In
1949, an outlet was established for the retailing
of sanitary fixture, fittings, plumbing hardware,
pipes and related fixtures and fittings. The business
also undertook drainage, plumbing and related
engineering work to supplement its retail operations.
In
1956, Acme Sanitary Ware Co. Ltd. (hereinafter
call "Acme") was incorporated to take
over the business. As a result of continual expansion,
the business relating to drainage, plumbing and
corresponding engineering works was taken over
by Acme Engineering Co. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary
of the Acme, in 1982.
In
1981, Acme had supplied American Standard to Jinling
Hotel of Nanjing. Since then Acme supplies sanitary
wares directly or indirectly to other major hotels
and buildings in China.
Acme
is the very first company of this nature involving
in projects in Mainland China since it started
its open market policy in 1979. To cope with the
steady growth of business in China, the Shanghai
office was established in 1993 to enlarge the
distribution network.
With
more than 50 years experience in this field, Acme
has been successful in getting market penetration
of its products through its well-developed distribution
network.
